It happened, again, I bought books. I did my best, it is my third slip up this year, so not horribly bad for someone who habitually was buying 40 books before each vacation just to make sure I have enough to read. Still, I have to be more and more careful, because it is a slippery slope. The Sunday two weeks ago was a lovely day, beautiful sunny morning, I went out to have a decadent breakfast in town and then went off to Greenwich Park to refresh my tan, few hours later as I was coming home I forgot to cross the street and ended passing right past the amazing second hand bookshop where all books are 1GBP, yes let me repeat that 1GBP, how am I supposed to stop myself? This should be illegal! All books at the same ridiculous price.

So of course I went in, initially I ended with a pile of six books, but then I decided to minimize my guilty conscience and left only with three I really really wanted. Kate Atkinson, as I am on a bit of Atkinson reading spree and I run out of her books, so this will keep me going. Elizabeth von Armin, because I love her, love her, love her, and also there were many wonderful reviews of this book on the blogs I read. Beryl Bainbridge, this is your fault fellow bloggers, I never read Beryl Bainbridge, but again so many posts have been written about her books that I felt like I am missing out. So here we are, it’s just three books, I can probably read all of them by the end of the month, so my TBR shouldn’t grow significantly.

Out of curiosity I checked how many books I bought this year (not counting the gifts, those are legal) and the total so far is 11, with 63 read as of two weeks ago, when I bought my new sins I am still ahead of the game.
