Happy New Year!!
I wanted to thank you all for taking the time to read my posts and follow my blog! I really hope you’ll find a lot of interesting things here this year. Let me know if you have any suggestions!
It is 2016 already, I’m honestly not sure when that happened, but I have to deal with it. New year calls for a new year’s resolution, but I decided my book related resolution will not last the whole year, that would be too challenging… because my resolution is to not buy books in the first quarter!
I’m already scared, I’m a compulsive book shopper, whenever I go to a bookstore I leave with at least one book, whenever I decide to just check daily deals on Amazon I end up buying something. And then there’s the matter of proper shopping sprees, when I come back with 10-20 books at once. This ended up in me having 200 unread books on my Kindle and another 50-100 on my bookshelf. Because of all this and because my lovely family gave me a lot of books for Christmas I decided to start a detox, but I know I would never last a year (even though it will take me more than a year to read everything I already hoarded), 3 months it is.
To make it a bit easier I created a proper To Be Read list that will keep me motivated by showing me how many tempting books I already have. Another thing I already started doing is adding books to my wishlist instead of buying them, my books window-shopping equivalent.
What are your books related new year’s resolutions?
