The first quarter is gone, but I have exactly the same feeling as I had last year, that the year only just started. I hope I will shake that feeling off once the spring finally comes. Officially it is here, but I think no one told the weather. It was an average month reading-wise, I could not find anything that would hold my fancy for a while, until my mum recommended to me A Gentleman in Moscow, which I read with huge pleasure and it definitely helped me get back on the reading track. Writing though was not so good, for most of the month I did not feel like writing and I decided not to force myself, as it always shows in the quality of my writing. I decided silence is better than mediocre posts or reviews. I also broke my new year’s resolution and did not visit Persephone Bookshop in March, but I plan to catch up on the progress by visiting two bookshops in April, this will be the proper start of spring!
Happy Easter everyone! And Happy Prima Aprilis! What a nice coincidence this year!
How was your first quarter? Did you get off to a good start of the year?
Here’s what I read in March:
17. The Artist’s Way – Julia Cameron (r)
16. The Extinction Club – Jeffrey Moore – DNF
15. Purezento – Joanna Bator (r)
14. A Gentleman in Moscow – Amor Towles (r)
13. Cold Comfort Farm – Stella Gibbons (r)

I know what you mean about the year – it feels like it’s only just begun but we’re a quarter through – how did that happen? I loved Cold Comfort Farm and regularly revisit The Artist’s Way – I hope you find it as inspiring as I do! 🙂

Oh, I love Cold Comfort Farm but I also love the books it satirises.
I had a terrible writing slump in the third week of the month; I was hit by a big depression which didn’t subside with Mother’s Day as it usually does, and I even gave up my handwritten journal. Then I did realise that was a shame and did catch-up reviews, not sure of the quality but I like to have everything recorded.
Happy April reading!
