This was my last bookshop on the crazy October bookshop-crawl. Atlantis is a very profiled bookshop, focusing on witchcraft and magic and all things esoteric. Not necessarily my cup of tea, but I found two books nonetheless. The store is small and packed full of books. Unfortunately, due to the limited space, almost all books are shelved spine-facing, which makes it difficult to find anything if one comes here without a plan. I don’t have any photos of the interior, because I’ve been closely watched in the tiny space and felt a bit bad about taking out my phone to take pictures.
I liked it a lot, just the subject matter is not necessarily my thing. But if you do know anyone who is interested in magic then you should definitely head here to get them a gift (the nice bookmarks are included).
Here is what I bought:
The Secret Lore of London – edited by John Matthews and Caroline Wise
The Penguin Book of Norse Myths – Kevin Crossley-Holland
Oh, I’ve just read Kevin Crossley-Holland’s Norse Myths, Tales of Odin, Thor and Loki, which was marvellous, and I think I’m going to have to pick up that Penguin one, too, as he certainly has a way with words.
